Fabric and Care

We carefully select each fabric that we use by considering quality, texture, ‘hand-feel’ and of course how the fabric treats your skin. Here is a list of the fabrics that we currently use and why we have chosen them.

Hemp Linen

Fabric Composition 55% Hemp and 45% Organic Cotton

Why we choose hemp: Industrial hemp is the superstar of natural fibres and if you enjoy the smooth feel of soft fabric against your skin, you will love the comfort and style of hemp clothing.  Eco-friendly hemp clothing is set to become the next big thing in the fashion industry and many experts believe it will eventually supersede cotton, linen and polyester completely.

Caring for your Hemp Garments: Wash colours in cold water.  Requires ironing as organic linen crease with wear.  Hemp is a natural fabric it does not hold dye as well as synthetic fabrics, it might fade a bit over time.

Hemp Knit

Fabric Composition 100% Organic Hemp Knit

Tencel

Fabric Composition: 100% Tencel

Tencel is made from eucalyptus from PEFC certified forests. Eucalyptus trees grow quickly without the use of pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation.

Why we choose Tencel: Tencel is a natural fibre that’s made from wood pulp, most commonly from eucalyptus but also beech, birch and spruce trees. Eucalyptus trees grow quickly without the use of pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation. One of the key benefits of Tencel is it’s high quality feel and supreme comfort on skin. Due to the fine fibres that are produced, Tencel can be incredibly soft and comfortable to wear and is twice as soft as cotton.

Caring for your Tencel Garments: Low temperature wash of 30°C. Gentle machine wash. Do not use bleach or softeners. Tencel is already soft, and it could impede all positive attributes including breathability and moisture absorbency. Do not tumble dry & opt for hang-drying. To help with wrinkles it is recommended to steam them using a gentle steamer.
